Boys' Brigade

The Boys’ Brigade is thriving in Dunblane! We are, unashamedly, a Christian organisation, linked to both the Cathedral and St. Blane's Church congregations. We try to find ways for boys and young men to discover aspects of Christian faith in different ways and to allow them to explore their own beliefs and questions through a wide and varied programme fun activities which allows them to develop skills and be sociable at the same time.

The BB was founded in Glasgow as the first uniformed organisation for boys and although many things have changed since then, the basic principles remain the same.   We are told (Luke 2:v52) that Jesus grew in wisdom and stature and in favour with God and man and so our programme consists in acquiring knowledge, various physical activities, community work and Christian faith.

We have 18 volunteer leaders and around 140 boys in the Company at the moment but we do not operate a waiting list and we always warmly welcome new members to all sections. If you share the active Christian commitment of the BB and are interested in finding out more about becoming a leader, please get in touch (see below).

The company is also provides opportunities to participate in the Duke of Edinburgh's Award scheme and is increasingly active in the local community. We take part in competitions and events at a local and national level. We have recently won several local competitions for drill, figure marching, table tennis and football, we won a national hiking competition and our Junior Section is officially the best in the world at the BB's International Games in 2008!
