Start Up Stirling

Dunblane Cathedral supports Start-Up Stirling, a registered charity based in Stirling, Central Scotland.

The charity operates to assist and support families and individuals experiencing homelessness by providing packs of household goods, cleaning items, food and toiletries, donated by individuals, faith/community groups and other organisations.  We also offer befriending support through a referral process with Stirling Council and The Bridge Project run by Lorretto Care.

The goods which are donated are checked, sorted and assembled into packs by our volunteers and in partnership with a range of agencies, they reach vulnerable individuals and families who may find it difficult to put together the items which turn a house into a home.

By providing starter packs we are trying help those in need in the following ways: Providing basic items needed to set up home, improving the chance of individuals and families retaining their tenancy. Helping to reduce stress and financial burden when moving from homelessness to a new home. Promoting a community response to homelessness which is practical in approach.
