Organ Development Committee

1. The Committee shall have the authority of the Kirk Session:

a) to supervise the proper maintenance, repair and tuning of the Organ and to take all necessary steps to ensure that the Organ remains in good condition.

b) to introduce, manage and terminate Organ Scholarships and Studentships upon the recommendation of the Organist, and to determine from time to time the conditions which shall apply to these posts and their monetary value.

c) to manage the Organ Fund on behalf of the Kirk Session.

d) to organise and/or sponsor recitals, concerts and events involving the Organ and to underwrite such events provided that the costs do not create an annual overall loss in the Fund's income.

e) to liaise directly with Historic Scotland and other bodies on any matter relating to the Organ.

f) to co-opt further members to the Committee in addition to those appointed by the Kirk Session.

2. The Committee shall require the approval of the Kirk Session for all matters not specified above, and the authority of the Kirk Session shall be sought for activities or events which might create an annual overall loss in the Fund's income.

3. The Committee shall circulate reports of its activities when appropriate, and shall give an annual report to the Kirk Session at the November meeting, at which all its activities shall be reviewed.
