Cathedral Logo & Name PDF Print E-mail
Written by Malcolm Wilson

Having problems getting the tower right? Is the text font not looking as it should?  It’s important that we have and use a logo for the Cathedral which is instantly recognisable. If you are creating posters or letters and would like to use the Cathedral name and/or logo, we would politely request that you use the correct logo and the correct font.

The examples are blank logo which can then have the necessary words e.g. "Magazine", "Youth Group", or whatever added as necessary. The example of the magazine is given below to see how it works.  To download the file(s) to your computer, please RIGHT CLICK on the blue file name below and choose "Save As..." from the pop-up menu.

The text should use a standard font. The font name is "Cheltenham ITC Bold Italic BT" and it is the 5th file.

To install the font when downloaded to your computer, either right-click the font file and select "Install", or copy the file to your "Fonts" folder on your computer. In Windows, this will be in the Windows directory on your main drive.

Advice when Creating A Logo

From the graphic artist:

I have attached the Dunblane Cathedral logo (as an eps file and as a jpg) with the word ‘Magazine’ removed so that the other organisations can insert their own details.

The font used is ‘Cheltenham ITC Bold Italic BT’ and was used at 65pt to create the word ‘Magazine’ in the attached Dunblane Cathedral Magazine logo - it may be useful for people to see the magazine logo as a guide. The text here should be aligned to the right, underneath ‘Cathedral’.

HELP

If all of the above makes no sense to you, then fear not - help is at hand! Simply contact Chris Wilson with your requirements and he will create the necessary logo for you. You can email him by clicking HERE, or call him on 01786-821220.

Please note:

The Charities References in Documents (Scotland) Regulations 2007, which came into force on 1 April 2008, require all Scottish charities - and this includes Dunblane Cathedral -  to include certain “prescribed information” in a wide range of documents issued or signed on their behalf.  In order to comply with this law the Management Committee of the Kirk Session of Dunblane Cathedral has decided that in material issued on behalf of the Cathedral and all of its organisations the heading should not be changed from “Dunblane Cathedral” but that at the bottom of the first page of any material there should be added –

Dunblane Cathedral Church of Scotland is a Registered Scottish Charity: Number SC004454

Please note that there is a stipulation in the Regulations that this information has to appear “in legible characters”.
